SOQUEL, Calif., March 5, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — The Business Architecture Guild® announces availability of A Guide to the Business Architecture Body of Knowledge® (BIZBOK® Guide) v7.5, which includes new and updated business architecture reference models, information mapping content, enterprise architecture framework alignments and other updates.

The Guild is pleased to announce the addition of the new government reference model, which is the result of public reference model workshops and contributions from the Guild’s government reference model team. The government reference model represents contributions from individuals engaged in federal, provincial /state and local governments across multiple sectors on a global scale.

BIZBOK® Guide v7.5 also includes a multitude of content updates and expanded domain mappings for financial services, insurance, transportation, healthcare and common reference models. Updates reflect practice-based insights from various team members. Guild reference models enable organizations to jumpstart and mature business architecture mapping efforts, cutting months off startup efforts and gain key insights needed to mature existing business architectures. As BIZBOK® Guide reference model content matures, it is incrementally rolled out in downloadable format.

BIZBOK® Guide v7.5 incorporates information mapping updates that reflect recent advancements from the field and contributions from Guild reference model teams. Updates include formalizing the mapping template, more detailed mapping guidelines and greater specificity into information-to-capability and related domain cross-mappings. Information mapping is becoming more and more critical to businesses to support small-and-large-scale transformations.

BIZBOK® Guide v7.5 includes updates to enterprise architecture (EA) framework alignment, reflecting recent updates in The Open Group® TOGAF® 9.2 and related guides. As TOGAF® and related guides continue to align to a more formal approach to business architecture, the Guild, who participates in these efforts with its members, continues to reflect these updates in its EA framework mapping section.

Additional updates include further formalization and clarification of business object’s role in capability mapping and value stream navigation.
